A little about me...

Matty Aitchison – Rayson, Principal of Razzamataz Theatre Schools West Cumbria, took over the school in 2018 after working for the company for six years as a Classroom Assistant at Razzamataz Theatre Schools Carlisle. In 2014, Matty graduated from the University of Cumbria with a Upper Second Class joint honours degree in Drama Performance and Technical Theatre.

Matty eats, sleeps and breathes all things Razzamataz and is very excited and delighted to be taking over as Principal. He is very much looking forward to all the wonderful experiences he can provide to his students within Singing, Dance and Drama and watching them grow and develop their confidence week on week.

Sophie Morgan

Operations Co-ordinator & Minis 3 and Singing Teacher

Sophie has had a passion for Musical Theatre and Performing from the age of 5 years. She was a student at Razzamataz West Cumbria fo our 10 years, and performed in many different showcases and attended many workshops. Sophie is a qualified teaching assistant and works in a local nursery school. As well as this Sophie is a qualified paediatric first aider and has a level one certificate in British Sign Language.

Amber Symington

Minis 1 & Dance Teacher and Creative Director

Amber studied Dance and Drama for 2 years at Manchester Metropolitan University before majoring in Dance in her final year, in which she gained a BA Hons in Dance. Amber went on to continue her studies and graduated with a PGCE in Performing Arts. She has danced all her life taking part in festivals and competitions across the country. Amber is trained in various dance styles including Commercial and Tap and currently works at Carlisle College as a Performing Arts Lecturer.

Becca Graham

Inters & Seniors Drama Teacher

Becca is super excited to be returning to Razzamataz as our Inters & Seniors Drama teacher after her maternity leave.
Becca first started dancing at the age of 6 and her love for the arts grew when she attended Carlisle College studying Performing Arts, from here Becca went on to
university to continue studying Performing Arts. Becca has just recently qualified as a teacher too!

Becca can’t wait to see everyone at Razzamataz and meet our new students who have joined us and get stuck into the Drama lessons.

Georgia Hunter

Minis & Juniors 2 Teacher and Holiday Club Manager

Georgia has danced since the age of 3, taking many exams and gaining many medals. She has been part of an amateur dramatics society since 2008 and takes part in local productions at least twice a year. She has been assistant choreographer for a sell out production of Annie.

Ellesia Hilton

Tots & Juniors 1 Teacher

Ellesia trained and graduated from the University of Cumbria with a First Class Honours in Performing Arts. Ellesia joins the team with a variety of experience teaching children, from mentoring and assisting younger dancers to bespoke workshops for children's events. While training she loved volunteering with Carers UK and working with Rainbow wishes. Her freelance career focused on Theatre in Education and Children's Entertainment. Taking part in a variety of regional touring school plays, including the Cumbria tour of Ruby! Through the pandemic she created online craft and theatre workshops for Destination Florida, which grew her passion for nurturing the next generation of performers. Ellesia is excited to join the Razzamataz team and we working closely with the Tots & their parents/guardians and our Juniors 1 group.

Ellie Ford

Juniors 2 Classroom Assistant

Ellie began her Razzamataz journey in 2003, aged 5, and has now been with Razz for 18 years! Throughout her time as a student, she participated in events both in and outside her weekly Razz classes including several performances at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End and a workshop with Diversity, as well as representing Razzamataz at various local performances. Ellie has been an assistant for our Minis & Juniors teacher and our Drama teacher, Ellie is currently in her final year of her degree and will be returning to Razz to work with our juniors group to allow her time to concentrate on her degree!

Aidan Thompson

Minis 3 & Juniors 1 Classroom Assistant

Aidan has been involved in Performing Arts and Theatre since he was 7. He has been part of an Amateur Dramatics Society for the last 6 years and performs in productions at least 3 times a year. When it comes to theatre productions Aidan has done it all, he's been backstage, on stage and has even dabbled in the makeup team.

As a result of working at Razzamataz, Aidan has been inspired to pursue a career in teaching and is currently about to start his Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.
