Welcome to Razzamataz Theatre Schools West Cumbria.
Razzamataz Theatre Schools was launched in 2000 and achieved national recognition in 2007 after a memorable appearance on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, winning the investment from Duncan Bannatyne.
Razzamataz West Cumbria (formerly known as Whitehaven) launched in September 2002 and has grown from strength to strength. Offering tuition from ages 2 – 18 yrs we pride ourselves on top quality tuition at affordable prices. We have been delighted to be awarded the Community Award in the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) North West group in March 2022 and invited to the FSB finals in Glasgow, The One to Watch in 2019, The ‘Rebecca Rennie Outstanding achievement award’ in 2016 and 2015 and Franchisee of the Year in 2012’ – these national accolades are all testament to the hard work, passion, enthusiasm and dedication of both our students and teaching team.
Students regularly perform in the local community with performances at The Carnegie Theatre, Dunmail Park, Rosehill Theatre and the Workington Hub. The school are proud of their West End Teams who have performed in Her Majesty’s Theatre on several occasions, home of Phantom of the Opera as part of the Razzamataz Gala Performance, and performed at the Shaftesbury Theatre in December 2022, home of &Juliet, as well as taking part in performances at Disneyland Paris as part of their 25th Anniversary celebrations!
Students have also gone on to perform professionally and within the industry including Egremont born Razz graduate Peter Reid who has starred in Hamilton and Matilda in London’s West End and many other West End shows!
Alongside their professional training from industry professionals, the school is often visited by guest performers, including Nickelodeon star Carl Tracey, TV Producers, West End performers, Diversity and Ashley Banjo and Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse to name a few!
Other opportunities offered at the school include Arts Award, the Razzamataz Future Fund, Top Talent Agency, Annual Award Ceremonies and lots of fun!
